Michael Barone: "Strangers to dissent, liberals try to stifle it."

Barone is silly guy. What the call was, originally, was that some respect be paid to the president when he addressed a joint meeting of congress. Then, later, Obama denied that the tirades from the Right where racially motivated. Barone seems to have missed that. Then Pelosi and a few others asked that there be less name calling and screaming from BOTH sides so that we could work for the benefit of the people. No one called for the squashing of dissent.

Typically, among our chattering classes: badmouth the best universities in the nation as elitist and anti-conservatives. Check out Dartmouth, a stronghold of conservative thought and expression. and where did Buckley and Bush go to college? oh, yes: Yale and Harvard...
so easy to badmouth the great schools and, at the same time, hope your kids can get into them.

Pelosi sheds a tear while calling the right violent when all the violence has been from the left, beating up a guy in St. Louis, etc. Obama denied but many others accused, including Jimbo Carter.

It was quite a while ago when Buckley, he's dead now you know, and Bush went to college. Have you not kept up with current events due to writing a book?

They're not call for the squashing of dissent, they're doing it.

fred - You lie.

For the Left, winning power justifies any means necessary, up to and including the destruction of the nation. The fact that they are willing to over throw our traditional form of government is being made abundantly clear by the gross abuses of power that the Obama administration is making, including nationalizing the automotive industry, strong arming the banks, etc. It is all about winning power for themselves.

@ Charles Montgomery

In the US, presidents do not RULE, they simply govern, despite the imagination of the Left.

As to your silly question, when you are bent on bringing about world government, bringing down the most powerful, independent nation in the world is certainly an important step. Most thinking people can understand that. I'm sorry you are having difficulty with that point, Charles. It really is not hard.

Ah, but there's the rub. If Obama succeeds in tearing down the country as he seems intent on doing, then he's in position to rule without worry about all that legal stuff.
