And a very merry Christmas to you Dr. Helen. Thanks for all the posts keeping us up to date with a (mostly) psychological perspective. :)

Merry Christmas to you, Dr. Helen, and to all who comment here! I learn a lot from this site, even (perhaps particularly) when people disagree with me.

TO: All
RE: [OT] 'Merry Christmas', Indeed

So.....

...today I go to the mailbox and therein I find an advertisement from those wonderful 'people' who give us "Prevacid".

Based SOLEY on personal experience with that 'product', I would look for additional information before using it.

How so?

Because I'm pure-blood Scandinavian. And, oddly enough, what works for other genotypes doesn't work so well for mine.

Case in point.....

....my Mother—God rest her soul—died screaming in my Father's arms because of a massive cerebral vascular 'accident'. She had the F7 gene variant that caused such disasters when using that form of chemical 'birth-control'. What an 'interesting' approach to 'birth control'. Killing the women.

Soooooo.....

....a 'Merry Christmas' and a 'Happy New Year' to you all. However....

....have a 'care' as in my favorite 'saying' goes....

What they are telling you can be important. But what they are NOT telling you can be 'vita'l.

P.S. About the 'Prevacid' ad....

....Prevacid did not kill my Mother.

However, after my GP's PA prescribed it to me, I developed—what I understand as being—'central sleep apnea'. It's a condition wherein your brain 'forgets' to tell you lungs to 'breath' while you're 'asleep'.

If you're 'lucky', you wake up in the middle of the night gasping for breath. If you're not so 'lucky', you wake up the next morning 'dead'.

I called the manufacturer of 'Prevacid' and asked them about the experience.

They said there are certain 'sleep disorders'.

I asked if any of them involved 'death'.

They 'demurred'......to respond other than there are known 'sleep disorders'. None of which they would identify by name.

Regards,

Chuck(le)
